A Message from a Wife
to her Husband in Prison

It has been many years since the first time I walked into a visiting room and laid my eyes upon you. All those months and months of letter writing led up to that.

I chose to stay by your side and chose to marry you because I love you. I feel that at times a person can make a wrong decision and that just all the more proves that we are human. I love you because of the fact that you have always been honest with me. I love you because we work in unison to make sure that in spite of all the barriers thrown up at us our marriage not only survives, but thrives.

Yes being married to a man who is incarcerated is a very lonely road to travel, but I chose to travel this road because although you may not be physically by my side I feel your emotional support day in and day out.

So my dear husband, I am asking that you do everything you can to stay safe, to do your time in prison well, because even though I am by your side only you know how to do that and to come home the loving, caring person I know.

Kathy, loving you 15 years, married 6 years
